Our Jazz on the Porch Series continues with a performance by the Tony Foster Trio! The performers will be on the side porch of Roedde House Museum which faces the lawn space of Barclay Heritage Square Park. Donations collected will go towards the continuation of our Jazz Series and directly supports the artists we engage.

Pianist and composer Tony Foster is originally from North Vancouver but is now based in Seattle WA. Joining Tony at Roedde House will be bassist Sean Drabitt (Victoria/NYC), and local Vancouver jazz star drummer Joe Poole. The trio has been performing together whenever possible for close to 5 years now, and will be covering material from some of the great jazz pianists of our time, with a special tribute to the very influential Ahmad Jamal who recently passed away in April at the age of 92. Jamal’s playing has heavily influenced not only Foster, Drabitt and Poole, but the entire jazz world. Other material will include compositions and works of McCoy Tyner, Oscar Peterson, and Phineas Newborn Jr., Erroll Garner, and Art Tatum!
