Jazz in the Parlour: Julia Farry (Bass) with Winston Matsushita (Keys) and Max Huberdeau (Drums)
April 25 @ 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Our Jazz Series continues on Thursday, April 25th, at 7pm!
This parlour concert features Julia Farry on upright bass, with Winston Matsushita (Keyboard Grinder) on piano, and Max Huberdeau on drums.
Julia Farry lives in a collective home on the unceded territory of the Musqueam, Tsleil-waututh and Squamish nations. She is a true believer that art and culture are the catalysts for change. Working as a community organizer, she practices living art and uses music to process the intricate and profound realities of the universe. As a band leader for two local bands, Amphibioux and Assorted Mustard Greens, Julia has been studying and admiring the worlds of Brazilian music and jazz. Resonating at the lower frequencies of sound on the upright bass, she hopes to inspire joy with grooves and basslines, while searching for what it means to decorate time… with music? Sound? A shared moment.
The concert will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a 30-minute intermission during which tea and cookies will be available.
$20 for Seniors/RHM Members/Students
$23 for General Admission
