Join us on July 25th from 11 AM to 4 PM for “Aging with Pride” a special event in partnership with the West End Seniors Network. We will be launching our new parlour exhibit, “Pride in Performance: Queer Jazz and Vaudeville Performers,” which celebrates the rich history and contributions of queer artists in jazz and vaudeville. This exhibition also complements the ongoing jazz exhibit in our collections room, offering a comprehensive look at this vibrant cultural history.

Throughout the day, we will be offering tours by donation, allowing you to explore both exhibits, the Roedde family and the life of an immigrant family in Vancouver’s west end at the turn of the 20th century. We will also have a posy-making activity in the dining room, where you can create your own beautiful flower posey to wear or take home.

“Aging with Pride” is a celebration of the resilience, creativity, and enduring spirit of the LGBTQ+ community. We invite you to be part of this special day and honour the contributions of queer artists to our cultural heritage.
