The Museum is owned by the City of Vancouver, who is also responsible for much of the house’s exterior maintenance. All other operational expenses (including staffing, insurance, parking rental, interior preservation, collections maintenance and purchases) are borne by the Roedde House Preservation Society.

Preserving the Past for the Future

Like most small museums across Canada, Roedde House depends largely on the financial support of the community to maintain its valuable events, programs and collections. We invite you to express your support for Vancouver’s only Victorian house-museum and become a donor.

You may designate your donation to the Museum’s priorities or specify an area of interest to you, for example, our jazz concert series or schools program.

Roedde House Preservation Society is a registered, non profit organization: Business Number: 892945866RR0001. Tax creditable receipts are issued for donations of $25 or more.

Or mail your donation to: Roedde House Preservation Society, 1415 Barclay Street, Vancouver BC V6G 1J6

2025 Maintenance and Improvements Projects

Since the Roedde House Preservation Society is responsible for the interior of the building and all that goes on inside, we have continuously developed plans for the maintenance and improvement of the museum. We are required to develop this more formally for approval by the City. Of course, we also have to raise the funds to pay for implementation of each year’s Maintenance and Improvements Plan. This is done with significant support from generous donors. The museum’s 2025 Maintenance and Improvement Plan includes restoration of the museum’s heritage blinds, as well as new carpeting for the den, back stairs, and parlour. All donations help preserve this beautiful 1893 piece of Vancouver’s heritage!
