Madeleine Elkins Artist Bio: Guitarist Madeleine Elkins works at the crossroads of jazz-influenced music, folk, and rock, featuring the dual elements of electric and acoustic guitar. She is a vital musician for a growing array of BC-grown acts, including the Sister Jazz Orchestra big band, Spindle, folk singer Madelyn Read, and many more. Influenced by Bill Frisell, Mary Halvorson and Tony Rice, her compositions bridge the gap between contemporary jazz and new bluegrass and folk sounds in a guitar trio setting supported by William Chernoff on bass and Kevin Romain on drums.
