We are pleased to host a new exhibition by fashion historian Ivan Sayers.“At the Masquerade” is now on display in our second floor Collections Room!
This exhibition showcases costumes from Ivan’s personal collection ranging from the 1890’s to the 1970’s. A few noteworthy costumes include an 1895 fancy dress ball gown purportedly designed for Mrs. Saks of Saks Fifth Avenue Department Store in New York representing Catherine De Medici, and cape from the late 1920’s which was used as costume by Ross Hamilton when he portrayed the character “Marjorie” when he performed in the cast The Dumbells (a popular theater group made up of soldiers who performed in Europe during WWI).
